Tex-Mex Ground Beef Tacos

Hard-shell taco filled with delightfulness

Not for the health-conscious crowd. But, for the people who are living life like they just don’t care, this might be your new favorite dish.

Cookware & Appliances Needed

  1. Stovetop or Hot plate
  2. 13-inch pan
  3. 9-inch pan
  4. Utensil to cook
  5. Paper towel-lined plate

Ingredients

  1. Ground beef – 1 1/2 lbs
  2. Taco seasoning – 28 gram (1 packet)
  3. Paprika – 1 TSP
  4. Devil’s spit – 1/4 TSP
  5. Oregano – 1/4 TSP
  6. Corn tortilla (street taco sized) – 24 count
  7. Mexican four cheese blend – 8 oz
  8. Shredded lettuce – 8 oz
  9. Canola oil – 1 cup
  10. Manteca (Lard) – 1/2 TBSP

Instructions

  • Begin by: In a 9-inch pan over medium heat, add canola oil and Manteca (lard).
  • Once oil is adequately heated, begin frying the corn tortillas.
  • Then set aside in a paper towel-lined plate.
  • In a 13-inch pan, cook the ground beef over medium heat.
  • Add taco seasoning, paprika, devil’s spit, and oregano. If you elect to remove the grease from the pan, do so before adding your seasonings.
  • Once ground beef is cooked, turn off heat.
  • Assemble your tacos. In your fried corn tortillas, add your ground beef and top with shredded lettuce and shredded cheese.
  • Best served with a side of red chili.
